Press Release

Bravepoint and Foresight Software sign collaborative agreement
14 April 2003

Agreement underscores Novell's continued commitment to providing world-class support for Web Services developers.
BravePoint has been a leader in Java and J2EE training since 1998 and is one of the first companies to offer Java and Web Services training for Novell

BravePoint, a recognized leader in the development and training of Java, XML and Web Services applications announced today that they have entered into a collaborative agreement with Novell to provide industry-leading Java, J2EE and XML instruction as part of Novell's comprehensive deployment training curriculum.

The addition of BravePoint training is representative of Novell's continued commitment to standards-based Web application development-a commitment that began with Novell's acquisition of SilverStream Software in July of 2002, and the subsequent introduction of the Novell exteNd Web Services application development suite as a flagship Novell product.

The Novell exteNd suite, which includes Novell exteNd Director, Novell exteNd Composer and the Novell exteNd Application Server, dramatically reduces the amount of programming necessary to develop advanced Web Services applications, significantly reducing time-tomarket for secure, cross-platform business-critical applications. "More and more companies are seeing the cost benefit of moving their applications to the Web," says John Harlow, President of BravePoint. "This agreement with Novell enables us to help a larger audience get the skills they need to make this a smooth, quick transition."

Courses can be booked publicly or privately through the Novell or Bravepoint websites. Private courses allow companies that are addressing specific technology transitioning issues to customize their coursework to meet specific needs. "With our customized approach, we can come into an organization, analyze the available skill set and provide the right level of training," says Harlow. "This approach leaves the developers selfsufficient in the new technology without compromising delivery on existing projects."

In explaining Novell's decision to enter into this agreement, Nancy Reynolds, Vice President of North American Channel Sales for Novell said, "BravePoint was in partnership with SilverStream previously, and already had a significant level of experience and expertise working with the products. We are very pleased to have BravePoint formally deliver Java, J2EE and Web services instruction as part of Novell's training curriculum."

Reynolds continued, "Our alliance with BravePoint reinforces Novell's leadership position in Web Services applications training while providing our customers with an additional best-inclass, one-stop source for training," Reynolds says.
