Success Story - TIMCO

TIMCO's Systems On Course to Accommodate Growth

As a company specializing in major maintenance checks on widebody jets for commercial airlines, Triad International Maintenance Corporation (TIMCO) faces substantial challenges in order to consistently meet a barrage of regulatory and compliance requirements. Add to that an acquisition by another company with two of its own maintenance, repair and overhaul sites, plans to start up a fourth site and acquire a fifth site, and Y2K compliance requirements and you'd be reaching for your oxygen mask as well.
With time ticking, TIMCO knew it needed a copilot on board to help its business take flight into the new millennium. Specifically, TIMCO needed a review of its Y2K work to date, an action plan to complete it within 30 to 60 days, the deployment of a system at its new start-up company that was business and Y2K-compliant, and a systems strategy for its other sites as well.
"We were blunt about the difficulty of the challenge, but BravePoint took it on," said Bill Baker, TIMCO's Vice President of Information Services. "Within 48 hours, BravePoint demonstrated to us how they would achieve these objectives. Although the timeframe was short and the challenges great, BravePoint had in place a method to solve customer business problems and react to customer changes. Throughout the project, BravePoint was truly interested in making sure we were successful. I heard that at all levels. By the time the project was finished, we hated to see them go."

Ready for Take Off
Following a strategic decision to take the original TIMCO location's systems and replicate them throughout the rest of the growing enterprise, BravePoint joined forces with TIMCO's programmers to write the new code, populate the database, and evolve TIMCO's new MAJIC (Maintenance, Aircraft, Job, Inventory and Control) system. BravePoint spearheaded the monumental task of transitioning all systems from the other locations---including database information, aircraft histories, inventories, and financial data---into the MAJIC system.
With BravePoint's assistance, TIMCO greeted the new year with a solid systems solution with which it was proficient and self-reliant. What's more, as a publicly held company, TIMCO could now meet the requirements of independent auditors as well as those of its stockholders. Finally, TIMCO's systems are easily scalable to accommodate any future location. Now, that's a comfortable cruising altitude.
