Flexsys’ System a Winner When the Rubber Hits the Road

  Rubber. Chemicals to help cure and protect it, increase its durability and fatigue life, control color and provide heat resistance, comes predominantly from one place--Flexsys. Unfortunately, Flexsys' business systems came from two places-its parent companies Monsanto (followed by its spin-off company Solutia) and Akzo Nobel. By inheriting these completely different systems, Flexsys' operations were cumbersome and inefficient. Flexsys knew it had to implement its own system. After selecting MFG/PRO as its Enterprise Resource Planning system, Flexsys' implementation team at Deloitte and Touche recommended BravePoint for its MFG/PRO and UNIX consulting expertise. Having BravePoint on board got things rolling for Flexsys. "If it wasn't for the expertise and leadership of BravePoint," said Jim Goff, Flexsys' IT manager of the Americas, "we could not have gotten the job done in our required timeframe."

A Smooth Ride
  BravePoint programmers worked along with two project teams at Flexsys--one for the United States and one for Europe and Asia--to install MFG/PRO and ensure standardized product data worldwide so that information could be accessed and integrated easily. BravePoint's high-level expertise influenced development issues such as naming conventions, change management processes, and best practices, which not only assured the system operated smoothly but which proved to be critical during annual technology audits.
  Ultimately, BravePoint enabled Flexsys to replace all legacy systems at six manufacturing sites, five distribution points and its headquarters, with all implemented modules of MFG/PRO and all sites going live on the same day. Additionally, BravePoint made it happen while enabling Flexsys to ship and invoice materials throughout the transition in a way that was transparent to customers.
  As a result of the successful implementation of MFG/PRO, system-related customer complaints are practically non-existent. BravePoint continues to provide highly-technical, complex technology solutions to Flexsys, as well as mentor Flexsys' in-house programmers, developers and application managers on added peripheral systems such as data warehouses. You see, at Flexsys, the wheels are always turning.
